Sermon: Love in action 1 Corinthians 13

love in action

Introduction

“You say you love me, at least 1000 times a day. But I can’t see that love in your actions.” My wife told me in a frustrated voice, after I denied to help her with the Sunday worship service one day. I paused for a moment. Isn’t she right? This was the situation in the Church of Corinth and that’s why Paul wrote to the church of Corinth at a time they had given priority to Spiritual gifts while ignoring to love each other.

Love without actions is dead! And this passage tells us what is real love.

1.  Love is the most excellent way, 1 Corinthians 13:1

A. Spiritual gifts without love is nothing

B. The most excellent way is to exercise spiritual gifts with love

C. This is the only way we can fulfill God’s will

D. Pagans use gongs and symbols in their worship

E. Without love there’s no difference

A sermon for communion Sunday

holy communion

Introduction

Holy Communion is the most sacred event in the Christian Church. When people receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ during Holy Communion, we know that this is a most sacred time. A holy time.  A blessed time. Mysterious and unexplainable.

But why? Why is Holy Communion so consistently sacred and moving to so many Christians? What is there about Holy Communion which is so special? Why does Holy Communion consistently touch lives so deeply? I think the gospel lesson for today speaks to these questions.

How to host your christian web site for free?

So you  start a blog or a web site for your church . But the trouble is your old fashioned financial committee wont release funds for the job. If you want to start a church blog there are many free blogging platforms out there. If you want to host your church web site, there are many free web hosting services. But the problem is you cannot customize your blog the way you want. If it’s a web site within a couple of days your web site would clutter with thousands of annoying ads.

This is where 000webhost service can help you. A service which provides CPanel powered web hosting for $0.  I am hosting this blog with a commercial hosting provider, but this has the same features offered by my hosting provider for free. Consider the features in this free service.

Introduction

In todays sermon we are going to learn 4 lessons about the attitude of Christ.

Bible verse: Philippians 2:5-11

1. Christ’s attitude doesn’t hold anything back (v. 5-6)

Now what on earth is the attitude of Christ? The answer is found in v.6

who though he existed in the form of God did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped,

If I want to have the same attitude that Jesus had I must be willing to loose my titles, my positions and my recognition. Do you know that people who chase after status are the main source of church problems and conflicts?
