What does the Bible say about software piracy? Part 2

This entry is part 2 of 2 in the series What does the Bible say about software piracy?

In my previous article of this series I concluded saying that software piracy is theft. Let’s pick up from where I stopped.

Now what does the bible say about stealing?

1. God commands that we must not steal.

“You shall not steal.” Exodus 20:15. When we commit software piracy we break God’s law as well as the state law.

2. Software piracy is sin

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “If anyone sins and commits a breach of faith against the Lord … through robbery…”

Robbing is a sin. Software piracy is robbing from some one’s hard work therefore it’s a sin detestable before God.

Bible study: How to wait for God’s appointed time?

waiting for Gods appointed time

Introduction

Text: Selected scripture portions from the book of Genesis Chapters 14, 15, 17, 18.

Look at the picture above. You see a mother who is expecting to give birth to a baby. The baby will not be born over a night. It takes 10 months for the baby to be fully formed in Mother’s womb and after that period he is ready to see this world. In other words the appointed time for his/her birth comes after 10 months and the parents have to wait patiently while taking care of the unborn child.

God also has an appointed time for everything. The bible says,

“For everything there is an appointed time, and an appropriate time for every activity on earth:” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, NET)

2. With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.  (Ephesians 6:18, NET)
