Let me begin with a story.
A certain Wolf could not get enough to eat. But one night he found a sheep skin that had been cast aside and forgotten. The next day, dressed in the skin, the Wolf strolled into the pasture with the Sheep. Soon a little Lamb was following him about and was quickly led away to slaughter…”
Jesus said,
Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” Matthew 7:15
In today’s article I want to bring to your attention 3 most common false teachings, that haunt the modern Church. I chose to write this article, for knowing what is wrong and what is right can help you to avoid the spiritual wolves we encounter in our Christian walk.
False teaching #1: The Bible is inaccurate and fallible
Most of the contemporary Christian cults claim the Bible is inaccurate and fallible. They use a text book in addition to the Bible that they say is the correct revelation of God. “Among these cults are Mormons or Latter day saints and The witnesses of Jehovah”
The Bible cannot be wrong because it is the inspired word of God. The Bible itself bears witness towards this.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. 1 Thessalonians 2:13
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:21
False teaching #2: Jesus is not God
Jesus is not in same essence with God. He is little lower. He was created. Mormons even teach that Mary had sex with God and conceived Jesus. Jesus’ second coming has already taken place as He visited the earth in spirit years ago.
The truth is that Jesus is fully God and fully human. The scriptures declare That He was born through a virgin who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31; Luke 1:35) and His deity (John 1:1-3),
False teaching #3: The Holy Spirit is a force not a personal being.
Some Christian sects teach that the Holy Spirit is not a personal being but just the working force of God. This is not so.
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit has personal attributes.
1. He searches and has knowledge
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:10-11
2. The Holy Spirit distributes gifts as He wills.
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 1 Corinthians 12:11
3. The Holy Spirit has a mind.
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:27
4. The Holy Spirit loves us.
Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; Romans 15:30
In this short article I have addressed 3 of the most common false teaching that sweep the world today. There are so much more that I cannot cover all of them through a blog article. However take the above to your heart. Teach them to others. So that you will be able to many others who are likely to be mislead.

This seems to be a fairly old article as of today's date, but I happened to come across it and would like to make a reply.
I have been a born-again, Evangelical Christian now for over 23 years and have been involved in many self and church sponsored ministries. In addition, I have been a scholar of Scripture as well as other "lost books of the Bible" written by period authors but ominously left-out of the Bible by the Roman Catholic created Nicene Council.
Having said that, my observation would be this: Roman Catholicism was the 1st Christian "cult" and practiced very little of what Jesus had actually taught, and ANYTHING that the Roman Catholic Church did from day one of its inception in 312 A.D. forward was influenced by pagan practice (sun god worship, winter solstice worship, virgin worship, etc.) and of course the Emperor Constantine's mandates. Subsequently, to say that the Bible is the infallible word of God is a slippery and dangerous slope to be standing on since doing so is akin to saying that its Roman Catholic creators (actually editors whom were mere mortal men that practiced virgin Mary worship and other blasphemous forms of idolatry) were acting under the direct guidance of the Holy Spirit when doing so.
As you have stated, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16 AND the key phrase there is "by inspiration of God"…meaning that its words were NOT chiseled in-stone by the hand of God himself. Have you ever questioned why, Jesus himself in his 3 plus years of ministry gave absolutely NO instructions to ANYONE to record his teachings, to record his activities, to record ANYTHING done or said during that period of time. Knowing the future importance of his ministry and purpose here on earth, one would think that Jesus surely would have instructed the disciples to make careful and accurate notes of what went on during those 3 years.
Jeffrey,
There's no evidence to suggest that the Biblical canon, the list of books decided to be authorative as scripture, was even discussed at the Council of Nicaea, let alone established or edited (Contrary to the view popularised by Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code).
The council of Nicea gathered to address other issues the church was facing at that time – rather than the canonicity of books in the Bible.
This article may look chronologically out of date. Yet the warnings given in the article are just the common concepts found to be the foundation of any cult.
