C. All of them spied the same land. Saw the same people. They belonged to the same people that God brought out of Egypt.

D. Then how come the majority of them brought a bad report?

E. Well, The majority of them had a bad attitude!!!

2. Their influence was as bad as their attitude, (Numbers 14:1-10)

A. There were more than 1 million Israelites following Moses to the promised land.

B. Just 10 spies with an unhealthy attitude made 1 million people to doubt God.

C. Out of anger the people threatened to stoned the spies (Joshua and Caleb) who brought good reports.

B. They are like polluted water. They make the entire body of Christ sick.

C. Their attitudes become their actions. Their actions become their character.

D. They pollute others by gossiping, rebelling against leadership, promoting destructive criticism, motivating and convincing others to become their followers.

A. When you spend time with others, do they walk away feeling better or worse?

B. Do you clear the air, giving them a fresh perspective and positive encouragement? or do they go away feeling gloomy?

C. Watch how people respond to you, and you’ll know which kind of person you are?

D. The Israelites listened to the majority with the wrong opinion. Do you follow the majority or God’s expressed will?

E. How do you choose your associates? Are you careful? (Illustration: The proverb – “Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are…”)

F. When listening to the other person – do you listen wisely?

G. Do you talk behind the back of your leader. When he is wrong do you confront him in love and gentleness?

H. What would you do if the leader doesn’t admit his fault? Do you know that God appoints leaders and God alone can judge them? – Do you know that God will judge them indeed?

  1. Providence says:

Just a correction Joshua and Caleb were NOT stoned, the people threatened to stone them out of anger. Please make sure you review your facts before posting on such a powerful word. Great intent just double check on the details.

Scripture: Numbers 14:10 But the whole assembly talked about stoning them. Then the glory of the LORD appeared at the tent of meeting to all the Israelites.
