Web Hosting for Churches & FlockHosting will host your church website for free

If you have followed this blog closely you may remember my how to article on setting up a Church blog with WordPress. You can read it here if you missed it. In it I also discussed about choosing a Web Host in brief. Although Hosting costs have decreased very much over time some churches will find it difficult to invest on web hosting. (especially if you are talking about a fresh church plant) Gladly while doing research for this post I came across two companies that offer to host church websites for free, (well, I found more but the ones mentioned here looked worth an introduction)

Now just because these hosting services are free it doesn’t mean they are cheap. These companies invest a lot on human and computational resources as well as funds on a daily basis to keep their data centers running smoothly. Therefore it is advisable to not to burden them if you are fully capable of paying for hosting.

This is an introductory article only by the way. If you need more details about these services you should visit their official webs sites or drop me an email.

FlockHosting

FlockHosting

A quick WhoIs check on FlockHosting suggests the service has been around for the past 11 years. They offer 2 paid plans and 1 free plan for churches. All plans are cPanel and softaculous enabled and support WordPress hosting as well as non-WordPress custom-built websites. Church Customers get the functionally and support of paid plans.

Note: Apart from the joy of finding a free web host I felt a sense of warmth the very moment I visited FlockHost. The informal language used in the site mixed with humor and the cartoon like images really made me feel at home.
