Because of this I remind you to rekindle God’s gift that you possess through the laying on of my hands.  (2 Timothy 1:6, NET)

God has given some kind of gift to every believer. It could be something significant, or something very simple and insignificant. But the Holy Spirit of God wants you to use your gift for His glory and the expansion of His Kingdom. How do you work in corporation with the Holy Spirit? Let me start with an illustration.

Eagle is a bird who can soar into the sky. There is Ostrich and Penguin who are birds too, yet can’t fly. Have you ever seen these birds look at an Eagle then turn back at their creator and saying, “I am a bird too, and I want fly like the Eagle”.

They were created as birds who cannot fly. But to the Ostrich God gave a pair of strong legs, that it is the fastest bird on earth. To the Penguin God gave the ability to dive in deep sea. Are we not amazed when we hear these facts.

Christians are same. All of us are not dynamic Preachers. All of us are not great worship leaders. But God has imparted something in each one of us. May be your gift is to serve behind the platform. Don’t be discouraged. If you you operate in your realm faithfully, God will see into it and reward you, even though man can’t see what you are doing. Therefore,

1. Never despise your gift.

2. Never compare yourself with others.

3. Find out how you can be a blessing to the body of Christ (church) with your gift.

At the end of this devotional message, I have embed a Spiritual Gift questionnaire, which you can use to identify your own spiritual gift, if you have not discovered your gift yet. You can download the file, print and use it to evaluate yourself.
