Sermon: How to wait upon the Lord? Isaiah 40:30-31

Sermon: How to wait upon the Lord? Isaiah 40:31

Introduction

1. In order to understand this verse accurately, first we must see what’s the purpose of using an Eagle to explain the act of waiting upon the Lord?

2. An Eagle at the age of 30-50, flies to a high place and there it endures a harsh trial of endurance and change. It can’t fly because its feathers are overgrown. Therefore it plucks all the feathers from its body. It plucks its talons from its feet because the talons have grown curled and useless. Its beak has grown too long and curled. It breaks its beak against a rock. Defenseless, it cries out and waits for the time of renewal. Click here to read the rest of, Sermon: How to wait upon the Lord? Isaiah 40:30-31

Sermon: The sin of adultery Hebrews 13:4

Sermon: The sin of adultery Hebrews 13:4

Introduction

A recent survey indicated that 66% of the American men and 50% of the American women had been unfaithful to their spouses. C.M. Ward once told me that if there a 100 people in a congregation, the chances are that someone in that congregation is sleeping with someone else's spouse. I hope that makes you uncomfortable. It does me! I am certain that there are those here today who need this message. Though it may sound like a message of doom…it is actually a message of hope. Stay tuned! Why preparation is important for a Preacher? – Part 2

This entry is part 2 of 2 in the series Why preparation is important for a Preacher?

Why preparation is important for a Preacher? (Part 2)

5. Myths that promote poor preparation

I. Preparation indicates ministerial immaturity and inexperience

This is a popular myth promoted by lazy Preachers so that they can defend their ground. Frankly speaking as long as you have memorized the Bible it's very easy to pick up a scripture verse, find correlating verses, put them together then call it a sermon and claim yourself matured and experienced. But as I told you before, such messages sound like a prematurely born baby.

II. Messages prepared in advanced are not from God

This is just another nonsense lazy Preachers use to defend their ground, or they accuse that Preachers who seek prior preparation lacks anointing. This is not true. Click here to read the rest of, Why preparation is important for a Preacher? – Part 2

How to install ChurchInfo in a Windows based Computer?

Introduction

ChurchInfo LogoThis is how I found out about ChurchInfo. Recently we decided that our church membership information must be computerized and as usual I was asked to do the job. However none of the commercial Church Management Software I came across could fit into our budget. Then I googled to see whether any free and open-source applications are available. ChurchInfo is a free church management software designed to help churches track members, families, ministerial groups, pledges and payments and perform many other useful tasks. It meets most of the features offered by commercial ChMs though it falls short of a fancy user interface. It’s originally designed to run in Linux based servers and I will host this in one of those very soon. However most of you will be comfortable with running it in a Church Computer powered by a Windows Operating system. In my situation I wanted to do a test run in my PC before paying for a web hosting service. I used a Windows XP machine for this job – but this method should work on Vista and 7 as well. This is how I did it? Click here to read the rest of, How to install ChurchInfo in a Windows based Computer?
