Introduction

The preeminence of Christianity over Judaism. (Text: “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first begun to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him” Hebrews 2:3-4)

I. Because of its author – they Trinity engaged in its work

II. Because of what it can do (Hebrews 2:4)

III. Because of the nature of the divine and humans proofs submitted for its genuineness (Hebrews 2:4)

2. The attitude of neglect described

A. Refusing to give heed (Hebrews 2:1)

B. Allowing to drift by (Hebrews 2:1)

C. Refusing to accept the well attested truth (Hebrews 2:3-4)

D. Simply doing nothing – letting things slip (Hebrews 2:1)

3. The penalty visited

A. Certain (Hebrews 2:3; Hebrews 12:25-29)

B. Just (2:2)

C. Concentrate with privileges (Hebrews 2:3)

D. Described (10:26-29)
