Today I would like to introduce a Bible software called ‘The NET Bible’. Though I cannot compare this with E-Sword, Quick verse, Pradis or Illumina, I thought it is a good tool for my software collection. However unlike other software, it uses its own translation. It gives more freedom for the end users including publishers (Click the screen shot for enlarged view).
“The translators’ notes make the original languages far more accessible, allowing you to look over the translator’s shoulder at the very process of translation. This level of documentation is a first for a Bible translation, making transparent the textual basis and the rationale for key renderings (including major interpretive options and alternative translations). This unparalleled level of detail helps connect people to the Bible in the original languages in a way never before possible without years of study of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. It unlocks the riches of the Bible’s truth from entirely new perspectives.”—–Bible.org (Developer)
The user interface of this software is quite simple and 100% user friendly. It takes less than 1Mb of physical memory. In addition to the canonized OT and NT books the software contains Apocrypha books as well.

Yohan,
I am the executive director for http://www.bible.org and we have produced the NETBible for the use of authors and those interested in the sudy of GOd’s Word. As you say our translator notes set the NETBible apart and help in the understand of the Bible. We also have a online study tool at http://netbible.org as well as over 5000 on line articles that are also available for a free download from http://www.bible.org We offer a NeTBible tagger that you can add to your web site so that all your studies will allow the user to mouse over a verse reference and it will pop up. see http://labs.bible.org and click on the NETBible tagger.
