In today’s article I want to introduce to you “Visual Bible Alive Resource Centre”. This site offers thousands of searchable photos, paintings, drawings, etchings, engravings, works of art, hymn and chorus backgrounds, presentation elements, and other visual resources related to Bible and Christianity.
You need to register for a free account before you can download images of your choice. Most of the images are 800×527 in size. A perfect size that fits basic teaching and presentation needs. Sample images presented in the site have a watermark on them, but not in the copies you download. The images are placed under 3 different categories.

The site also provides additional information related to any image you select – like Bible verses and encyclopedia entries and Topical research chain keywords.

ABOUT US
FreeBibleimages came into being in 2009 when a group of Christians In the UK identified the opportunity to make teaching the Bible more effective through the display and projection of images. Our idea was to create Bible story visuals that were historically, geographically and culturally accurate – almost as if someone with a digital camera had been there at the time.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to create a visually accurate journey through the Bible, as a resource for teaching all ages – available to anyone, anywhere, at any time – to download free of charge.
OUR VALUES
This resource should be available free to all users, but with the option to donate so as to fund further resources.
Whilst showing the Bible reference for any set of Bible story images, no message or commentary will be provided to accompany them so we remain free of any language, doctrinal or denominational bias.
The images should be as accurate and true to life as possible and useful for teaching any age group.
Our site will not carry advertising or sell any products. We are a registered charity not a commercial venture.
WHERE WE ARE NOW
To date we have created a robust web site to deliver our free resources with good search engine optimisation and visitors from over 83 countries. We have currently placed 8 Bible story sets online in Powerpoint, Keynote, PDF and JPEG formats. With each story users can download a story planner containing thumbnails of the images and a brief description of what is happening in each scene. However they are directed to the Scriptures as a source for their preparation and the application of their message. These initial stories have been to test our procedures in creating digital Bible story images at low cost. We now have the the use of a studio, networked to involve Christians from the Middle- East to give us more authentic looking characters and have another 14 stories in post-production.
In a new development Big Book Media who have shot scenes from the gospels in The Middle East are allowing us to take high quality stills from their films to assemble into Bible story sets for us to deliver free of charge.
