In today’s article I want to tell you about WingClips, a web site which offers you the pleasure of downloading free video clips that can be used to illustrate any sermon. There’s something unique about WingClips which sets it apart from traditional Christian media web sites. Some of the video clips in the web site are actually segments taken from carefully selected secular movies and documentaries. Just like a modern way of using parables.

I know that different Christian circles have different opinions about secular movies. However I am sure any one can benefit from WingClips if handled appropriately.

Once signing up for a free account you can download your favorite video clips in Apple-QuickTime or Windows media format. Resources are categorized by movie title, scripture (requires upgrading to a paid account), category and theme.

Today we are ministering to a generation largely driven by media. I believe we can communicate God’s word and connect with people much better if we pay attention as to how we can use media effectively. Therefore I hope you will find WingClips to be a great blessing.

There are some disadvantages however and I have mentioned them below. But they are nothing much compared to the service that WingClips offer. Besides something is better than nothing!

Disadvantages

  1. Free account holders are not allowed to download high definition versions of video clips (Tip: In this case I hope using an LCD projector will be  helpful to make low definition video clips appear bigger.)
  2. Free account holders don’t have access to sermon outlines associated with the video clips.
  3. Each downloaded video must be deleted from the hard drive after usage.
  4. Free account holders are most likely to miss a load of useful features as they are entitled to download only the low definition video clips.
