Youth sermon: Life’s three greatest choices

Choices

Introduction

Did God create evil? Where did it come from? Evil is the antithesis of good; in order for there to be good, there must be evil. Though God did not create evil, He did create the potential for evil when He gave man a choice to disobey (see text). The issue of choice is the difference between man and the animal kingdom. Man has the capacity to choose between good and evil. The quality of life is determined by the choices you make. In the next 5-10 years you will be called upon to make the most important choices in your life; choose well!

The Grace Card (Film)

This blog is not about movies. Yet I have a strong urge to write something about “The Grace Card”, one of the latest movies arrived in theatres this year. I didn’t have the opportunity to watch it yet but after seeing the trailer and reading the plot summary I was convinced, it’s a movie that the churched (and the un-churched too) should never miss. It sends out the unmistakable message (to the un-churched) and a reminder (to the churched) that God’s grace is what the world needs.

Sermon: Zacchaeus – The transformed life of a short angry man

Zacchaeus

Introduction

Text: Luke 19:1-10

I was born and raised in a small town named Nuwara Eliya, located in the hill country of Sri Lanka. It’s a very peaceful town surrounded by water falls, tea plantations, mountains and constantly touched by the mist. The British who lived here during colonial times fell in love with the beauty of Nuwara Eliya and gave it the name “Little England”. Even today the town is very popular for its beauty and the climate that it annually attracts at least 50,000 tourists (local and foreign).

Father’s day sermon – prerequisites for fatherhood

The godly father

Introduction

Micah 6:8 “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

Today is Father’s Day. The greatest need in our society today is for fathers who will rise up and assume their God-given role of responsibility in the family. Our text gives basic responsibilities for manhood; but when a man becomes a father, those responsibilities are expanded.
