ESV Bible is a Bible reading App for Android/iOS-based smartphones and Windows Mobile. It is developed by Crossway, the publisher of the English Standard Version of the Holy Bible. I have been using this app for a few months now and decided it would be a bright idea to share my thoughts with you. Let me start with the pros.

I received my first Children’s Bible in the late 80s. It was filled with beautiful illustrations and narratives but very bulky. Fast forward to 2013 and there’s a Children’s Bible capable of fitting into a pocket, thanks to a smartphone app called “The Bible App FOR KIDS” developed by previously mentioned YouVersion.
As a preacher and an expositor of the Bible I need frequent access to solid reference material and software tools. eSword, MySword and the Expositor’s Bible Commentary by Zondervan Publishers are some of the software tools and reference material I use very often. In addition to these, I Google the net for any new tools that might have been introduced so that I can add them to my collection.
Today I want to introduce you to the Faithlife Study Bible by Logos Bible Software, the latest addition to my collection. I already used it to construct a couple of sermons and although it has been designed with small groups in mind I am quite happy what I could accomplish with it as a preacher. Presented below is an introductory video clip about the new software.

Introduction to Software Modules
The term ‘Module’ has several definitions. But in this context, a module is another piece of software that extends the functionality of the eSword and MySword Software. For example, if you need access to a specific version of the Bible that is not built into eSword (or MySword) you can use a Module to add that translation.
Our regular readers must have noticed this blog is not updated quite as often it was used to be. The reason is I am very busy these days serving the local church while doing some work for the Assemblies of God of Sri Lanka. Probably this condition will remain longer and I won’t be able to post anything much until mid-September.
I installed the Bible App little more than a year ago, right after purchasing my first Smart Phone. Today it’s a vital part of my personal spiritual growth strategy. It has many useful features worth mentioning here. However, in this intro, I want to share with you only the features I use on a daily basis.
