Sermon: The Lord of the Easter

Introduction

The disciples were discouraged and disappointed even after Jesus’ resurrection. They returned to fishing. Then the risen Lord appeared before them. He Commissioned them to follow him saying, “follow me…” – He is the Lord of the Easter! This Easter His commission for the church is that we follow Him. How do we follow the Lord of Easter?

Sermon: The Unspeakable Genealogy of Jesus

Introduction

Alex Haley became a household word and an instant millionaire when he wrote a book tracing his ancestry back to his “Roots: The Saga of an American Family.” Most of us have some interest in our genealogy because somehow it connects us to our ancestors. Most of us also find some ancestors we would rather not be identified with. Jesus had such ancestors, but he chose to identify himself with them, (Matthew 1:1-17). I would like for us to look at several of them today. [A sermon by Dr. Arnold Lastinger. Used with permission.]

Sermon: The Amazing Ministry of Peter and John

Introduction

The healing of a crippled beggar at the gate called “The Beautiful Gate” leading to the Temple is the first healing miracle recorded in the book of Acts. The disciples had performed miracles before, but this was also the first miracle they performed after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. There are five important principles we can draw from this chapter. If you have your bibles, please turn with me to Acts 3:1-26. [A sermon preached by Dr. Arnold Lastinger. Used with permission.]
