Text: John 6:25-66


You encountered Jesus’ power. what’s next?

1. Never settle for the second best

A. Their interest was in just another meal. Not in Jesus. (John 6:25-26)

i. This crowd was running after material blessings.

ii. Focus on the person who blesses, not the blessing itself.

B. Seek what is eternal. (John 6:27)

i. Visible things are temporary. Invisible things are eternal.

ii. Jesus alone has received God approval.

C. Jesus alone came from God.

i. Therefore he alone can bless you for eternity.

ii. He alone can show you the way to God.

2. Do the work of God

A. To do the work of God is to believe in Jesus. (John 6:28)

i. Jesus proved Himself on the cross. Therefore believe in faith.

ii. Stop testing God for more signs. (John 6:30-31)

B. Because Jesus was sent by God. (John 6:32)

i. He can feed your soul, not just the stomach. (John 6:33)

ii. He gives life to your soul. (John 6:34)

3. Believe and you will be satisfied forever

A. You wont go empty handed. (John 6:35-37)

i. He will give you the eternal life. (John 6:38-40)

ii. He laid down His life for everyone. (John 6:41-51)

B. Leave no room for unbelief

i. The crowd was confused because they did not believe. (John 6:52)

ii. If you don’t believe you will loose everything. (John 6:53)

iii. If you believe you will be blessed forever. (John 6:54-58)

iv. The crowd left Jesus out of unbelief. (John 6:59-66)

v. Will you quit following too?


Jesus is God. Are you ready to accept Him to your life and follow Him whole heartedly.
