It’s a well-known fact that at the end of a year many people attempt to start life all over again. Unfortunately, most of them at the end of another whole year find themselves right where they were. Tonight even as we step into a brand new year I decided to share with you about another man who found himself in the same situation. If you have been trying to start over but weren’t successful chances are high that you have been repeating the mistakes he made. By the way, the man is known to us as Jacob. These are the mistakes he made and how he overcame them.

The two boys in our story today came from a godly home, but a dysfunctional home nonetheless.  It may seem strange that a godly home could be dysfunctional but Jacob and Esau had the deck stacked against them by their own parents.  Isaac favored Esau, his rugged outdoorsman, while Rebekah preferred gentle Jacob, and neither hesitated to let their feelings show.

‘Lord bless me!’ The prayer of every Christian. Do you know that God has already blessed you? Yes, but you live a hopeless life because of your own shortcomings. God promised you many good things just like he did to Jacob, but nothing seems to work.

Well, I have a good news and a bad news. The good news is still there is hope. The bad news is it’s going to be tough. God says that you need to be broken, so that you become matured enough to use his blessings wisely. The outcome is based on the fact how you react? Therefore let me challenge you. Let God to break you. Why? Let me give you 3 reasons?
