A close-up shot of a Rainbow Flag Pin

The US Supreme Court’s decision to legalize gay marriage nationwide on June 26th, 2016 triggered mixed responses from Christian Communities not only across the country but the global church. When I read the various responses on the web the thought that crossed my mind was, “What will I do if this happened in my country, Sri Lanka?” I prayed about and the Holy Spirit implanted five thoughts in my heart. I want to share those thoughts with you today. (Scripture quotations are taken from the Amplified® Bible (AMP), Copyright © 2015 by The Lockman Foundation. Used by permission. www.lockman.org)

Sermon: Divorce is Grief without Death

People holding divorce papers.

Introduction

How many of you here have been a participant in a divorce or you are the child of divorced parents? The sheer number of raised hands is all the justification that is needed for this sermon today. There is a grieving process that is, in many ways, worse than the death of a spouse because it goes on and on. Lest you think I am going to beat you over the head, rest easy. Before this sermon is ended, I plan to offer you a ray of hope out of your pit of despair. [A sermon preached by Dr. Arnold Lastinger. Used with permission]
